Growing up....

My friend, Gary in San Diego just sent this to me... As long as we have known each other, Gary and I have always reminised about all the old (and GREAT) tv shows we watched as kids/teens... Winnie the Pooh was a HUGE part of my early childhood, as I remember going to D-land back in the day and watching Winnie the Pooh films at the Fantasyland's Disneyland Theatre (back in the 70s). I grew up watching the Pooh Bear and Tigger, too..

I am certainly excited to be participating in this year's Blogblast For Peace. I did a big post about 6 months ago and talked about what Peace means to me! It's very important to me and has a big impact on my life. Hi Everyone...

I wanted to post about a serious topic for a change. Something that will touch your heart. Betty C. from La France Profonde has recently posted a blog about a young boy in Poland who has terminal cancer. He is collecting postcards from around the world to help make his days a bit brighter... This story touches my heart profoundly, because I lost my own beloved mom to breast cancer just a little over two years ago. My mom was a very strong and inspirational woman... We were extremely close and I miss her like nothing else. I deeply feel for the parents and family members of this young boy because cancer not only strikes the person with cancer, but everyone else around him/her... Please help out by sending a postcard to this brave, young boy. If you would like to help out, please send an email to me or to Betty C. and we will send you the address. Cupcakes for Marie....

A few months ago, I baked some colourful cupcakes for one of my student's b-day party.. They came out really pretty and it was a lot of fun making them! The pix are a bit done up as I used my IPHOTO to touch up the colour a bit!! They were pretty tasty!!
