I didn't even know he was sick, but apparently he was diagnosed with stomach cancer back in November and had to cancel his European Tour as a result. I had absolutely NO idea about all of this until now- when I just found out upon awaking this a.m. - that he passed away yesterday.
My memories of Dio go back to high school, of course... I remember being sooo excited to have scored 10th row floor seats at the L.A. forum to see Black Sabbath when Dio had just taken over as lead vocals... It was a HELLUVA show, let me tell you and Dio has remained one of my favourite metal singers since then...
RIP RONNIE -- Your music will carry on..... ROCK ON!
