When you type the words "International Massage Jobs" into a Google search your bound to find many outrageously high-paying jobs for massage therapists in the UK and other destinations around the world. It attracts you because you want to try living abroad while making a HUGE sum of money! It seems to good to be true! That's because it's a SCAM! Just another way for these dirty scammers to make money off of you!
My good friend in San Diego regularly searches through adverts on the internet with the hopes of finding a job somewhere here in Europe. I have become her helpful 'detective' by checking out job listings by calling the hotel and inquiring about the 'job.' I've become pretty good at 'spotting' a scam and have taken to emailing the hotel personally, explaining to them what is going on and sending a copy of the job listing so that they can investigate further. I really hope that something can be done about these scammers because like the 'tutor scam' I posted last year, this scam is something that people are really falling for.
PLEASE take note people: When you see a listing for international jobs- the obnoxiously high "to good to be true salary" should be your very FIRST indication that this is a scam. Second, look up the actual hotel and see for yourself that this hotel does NOT have any type of massage therapist/spa facilities on their premises. This is a BIG tip off to you. I recommend NOT responding to the advert but rather sending an email to the hotel's manager or HR department, along with the link to the advert and alert the hotel immediately that you suspect someone is using their hotel in a scam. Thanks and don't be fooled by these low-lives!! Write to me if you have any questions about this.... Thanks!
Here is an example of an advert that is a SCAM:
