La Vendée frappée de plein fouet par la tempête

I have a few friends in Vendeé and I'm hoping they are all okay after the storm tore it's way through France yesterday. The coastal region of Vendée and Charente-Maritime seem to have been the worst hit- 51 deaths have been recorded so far- horrible flooding and the water rising in homes in just a few minutes time- people drowning in their homes, unable to escape the raising waters. A "State of Emergency" has been issued for this area.
